Pastor Gene Willis
Gene joined the staff of SBC in February of 2001. He has served various churches over the past 40 years as Minister of Youth, Minister of Music and now Director of Biblical Counseling for SBCC. Gene was ordained to the Gospel ministry in October of 1976. He has worked with a cross section of people over the years and is uniquely qualified to guide a wide variety of people through life’s storms. He is a board certified Pastoral Counselor with the American Association of Christian Counselors. He is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and pursuing another Master’s degree in Biblical Counseling from Liberty University.
Meagan obtained her master's degree in counseling ministries from Baptist Bible College and Seminary in 2005. For the last eight years, Meagan has been working with children and families in crisis in the community. She has provided individual and family counseling as well as partnered with community agencies to stabilize home environments. With a specialization in child and family studies, Meagan has a passion to help restore women, families and marriages through the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
She is committed to biblical counseling and is a certified Prepare and Enrich pre-marital counselor. God has given her a deep desire to minister to those in the church and community who are hurting and do not have the necessary supports and skills to biblically respond to their trials. Meagan lives locally with her husband, Brian, and their two sons, Christopher and Caleb.
Julie holds a Master's degree in School Counseling and Rehabilitation Counseling. She is a licensed school counselor and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). Currently, Julie is employed as a school counselor in Spotsylvania County with 26 years of teaching and school counseling experience. She is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and has been approved by the Virginia Board of Counseling to provide counseling services, while working toward state licensure as a professional counselor. Julie and her husband are active members of Spotswood Baptist Church and the Fredericksburg Gideons.
Vicky was born in Riverside CA and has two grown daughters and four grandchildren. She enjoys scrapbooking and traveling in her spare time. Vicky has been a member of SpotswoodBaptistChurch since July 1993 and has been employed at the church since May 2000. One of her life verses is… Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6.
Testimony: "I had always thought my salvation was okay because I had attended church off and on for most of my life and I knew who Jesus was. However, until May 1994 I was lost! I was lost and never realized it. Now, I know I am a child of God's! It is my goal to strive daily to become all that God wishes me to be."
